Terms & Conditions

The terms that govern your use of the Good Planet International website, donations, and online services.

Last updated: 28 July 2026

1.About these terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website at goodplanetint.com (the “Site”) and the donation and online services provided through it.

The Site is operated by Good Planet International Foundation (“GPI”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a charity registered in England and Wales (Charity Commission registration number 1199457). Our sister entities operate as 501(c)(3) in the United States and as registered NGOs in Nigeria and Bangladesh.

By using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2.Eligibility

The Site is intended for users who are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into binding contracts in their country of residence.

If you are under 18, you may only use the Site with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, and only that adult may make a donation on your behalf.

3.Donations

Donations made through the Site are processed by our regulated payment partner. By making a donation, you confirm that:

  • The payment method you are using is yours, or you have explicit authority from the cardholder/account-holder to use it.
  • The information you provide (name, email, billing details) is accurate and complete.
  • You understand that donations are gifts and are generally non-refundable — please see our Refund Policy.
  • Where you have made a Gift Aid declaration, you confirm you are a UK taxpayer and have paid enough Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover the amount GPI will reclaim on your donations in the relevant tax year.

GPI reserves the right to refuse or refund a donation where there is reason to suspect fraud, money-laundering, sanctions exposure, or any breach of these Terms.

4.Use of funds

Donations are applied to GPI's charitable objects — including hunger relief, clean water, healthcare, emergency response, education, orphan care, and long-term recovery — and to the reasonable operational costs of delivering those programmes.

Where you donate to a specific appeal (for example the Gaza Emergency Appeal), we will apply your gift to that appeal in line with Charity Commission guidance. If we have raised more than is needed for a specific appeal, or if circumstances on the ground materially change, we may redirect surplus funds to the most analogous active appeal or to our general humanitarian work, and we will be transparent about doing so.

5.Donor portal & accounts

Existing donors may access the donor portal to manage recurring gifts, view receipts, and update contact details. You are responsible for keeping your portal login credentials secure and for any activity performed using your account.

Please notify us immediately at info@goodplanetint.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

6.Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
  • Attempt to interfere with the Site, our servers or networks, or introduce viruses, malware or any other harmful material.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract content from the Site, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by applicable law.
  • Impersonate any person, misrepresent your identity, or use the Site to harass, defame or harm any individual or organisation.

7.Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including the GPI name and logo, text, photography, graphics, layouts and code — is owned by, or licensed to, Good Planet International Foundation and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws.

You may view, download and print pages from the Site for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use, including reproduction, distribution or modification, requires our prior written consent.

8.Third-party links and services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites (for example our payment partner, social-media platforms, or partner organisations) and may rely on third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of those third parties. Your use of third-party sites and services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

9.Privacy & data protection

Our handling of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Site you acknowledge you have read and understood that policy.

10.Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we take care to keep the Site accurate and up to date, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the information it contains will always be complete or current.

Programme outcomes described on the Site (e.g. number of meals, patients reached, wells installed) are reported in good faith from our field partners and are subject to ongoing verification.

11.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GPI, its trustees, employees, volunteers and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.

12.Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold GPI harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

13.Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14.Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that we retain the right to bring proceedings against you in your country of residence where required by law.
